Beauty Heals.  It Uplifts.  Refreshes the Soul.  And I find beauty most grandly displayed in the natural world.  In my work, I strive to capture the intangible feeling that makes my heart skip at the sight of the sea, or the sun glowing through leaves after the rain.  The perfectly ordered chaos of the world that makes me catch my breath.

My subject matter may vary (and does) but the desired outcome is always the same – to satisfy our need for beauty, and to point to Nature as the source.

Joanna Frye is a local artist currently based out of Wilmington, North Carolina. Since earning her degree from East Carolina University School of Art, Joanna combines her love of the ocean to work with a variety of clients creating figure work, seascapes, block prints and other mixed media pieces. All of Joanna’s pieces originate with the idea that the beauty is most grandly displayed in the natural world - that beauty uplifts, heals, refreshes.
